A valance is standard on all our wood blinds and faux wood blinds to cover the metal head rail, and mechanism operators such as the cordlock strings and tilt wands.

Best for privacy, the horizontal blinds allow you to tilt the slates downwards at an angle, allowing you to see through, while others cannot look in. Ideal for bedrooms and street-facing windows, or any other window with privacy issues.

To minimize cords, we recommend upgrading to a cordless lifting system combined with a tilting wand, or a retractable wand system for maximum child safety, and to spare you from tangled cords.

For better light blockage, we recommend larger size slates, especially on larger windows; less slates means there are less possible seams on a given window that light can seep in through.
